Frequently Asked Questions
Will my child be able to fall asleep independently? Probably not, unless they previously were on their own. This webinar isn’t about “teaching” children to fall asleep independently, it’s more focused on shifting towards sleeping independently in their own sleep space as opposed to beside or on top of you. It’s very normal for young children to still need some help falling asleep.
Can I continue to roomshare? Absolutely, you can utilize whatever sleep setup works for your family as long as you’ve taken the proper safety precautions.
Will there be tears? We usually like to take a very gradual approach to these transitions so generally there aren’t a lot of tears to support with this change. You will also be encouraged to continue to support your child to sleep the way you always have so usually we don’t see a ton of tears as they are asleep when you put them in their new sleep environment.
Am I ever allowed to bed share or contact nap again after I make this change? Totally, this does not need to be an all or nothing thing. Many families we work with just want one independent nap a day or just more independence for the initial part of the night.
Does the content expire? No, you will continue to have access to the content after purchase.
How long will the process take? This depends on your goals and your child’s temperament. We always encourage you to follow your child’s lead a bt and meet them where they are. We find this is the most effective approach when making big changes like this and sometimes that takes a couple months. If you do need to make more of a parent-led change, that’s totally okay too and you can try to move through this process faster if need be as long as we are taking your child’s temperament into consideration.
